John Wilson Jones

John represents Fortune 500 companies to start-ups in all phases of domestic and international patent and trademark procurement including strategic planning.

Over the last 35 years John has authored and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in diverse fields including oil and gas field fluids, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals and specialty chemicals. His representation further includes patent appeals before the Board of Appeals in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board as well as drafting of validity and non-infringement opinions. He has also litigated patent, trade dress, trade secrets and trademark infringements matters in various U.S. federal courts.

John also holds an advanced degree from Georgetown University in organic chemistry. Prior to graduating from law school, John was with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for over 5 years. He graduated with a J.D. from The George Mason University School of Law in 1983.

He is a member of the Texas State Bar, Virginia State Bar, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association, former Chairman of the Houston chapter of the Licensing Executive Society and has served on the Grievance Committee of the State Bar of Texas. He has authored numerous articles on domestic and international patent and trademark matters and is a frequent lecturer.

John is admitted to practice before various U.S. federal district courts and the U.S Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has been consistently recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer in intellectual property by Texas Super Lawyer.

Marc Delflache

Marc has over 40 years of IP experience, practicing with a large international firm for 18 years and before that with an IP boutique firm and in-house with a large research affiliate of an energy company. While with the international firm he was a partner in the Houston and Dallas offices, supervising the Dallas IP group for several years. His focus has been patent and trademark litigation for the last 30 years as well as patent and trademark prosecution, opinions, portfolio management, licensing and due diligence.

Marc has assisted many corporations over the years as a trusted advisor in a variety of industries, including energy, medical devices, telecommunications, computer hardware and software services, manufacturing, banking, restaurant and food services, aviation, professional services, apparel, cable and video. He has served as trial counsel in over 30 patent, trademark, trade dress, copyright, trade secrets and unfair competition suits in state and federal courts; and has served as appellate counsel. Since 1976 he has drafted over 100 patent applications in a variety of fields.

Over the years Marc has been consistently rated as a Best Lawyer by The Best Lawyers in America, a Super Lawyer in Intellectual Property by Texas Super Lawyer, an IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property, A Texas Top Rated Lawyer by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell, and within the IP Legal 500 US group by The Legal 500. He has written numerous articles and made many presentations on IP law over his career.

Marc obtained a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M in 1973, summa cum laude, and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1978.

Marc is licensed to practice in Texas and Colorado. He is also licensed to practice before various U.S. federal courts and courts of appeals, the United States Supreme Court and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
